Spanish for Beginners
A ‘from scratch’ Spanish course for total beginners, designed to help you build up a handy ‘toolkit’ of expressions for general use during visits to a Spanish-speaking country. Throughout the course we will be covering basic greetings and introductions, where you live, numbers, and useful questions and answers for shopping, eating and drinking, and days out. You will also be given the opportunity to develop authentic pronunciation so that you can be easily understood when trying out your Spanish with native speakers (no more ‘grassy arrse’!!).
The course is suitable for all newcomers to the language, with no (or virtually no) knowledge or experience of Spanish. NOT suitable for people with GCSE/O Level. Genuine beginners only please.
Teaching will be in Groupwork, pairwork, teacher-led learning and simple conversations in the form of small dialogues and question and answer sessions. And don’t worry, there are no tests or assessments – we aim to have fun as we learn!
You will need a pen and paper. No reference materials required at this stage. Own drink optional. Sense of humour essential!
You can progress to Year 2 – Spanish Beginners Plus.
