Photography

This photography course is being delivered by photographer Simon Thurlow who works on developing the photographers’ creativity, by understanding the potential of using their camera or smartphone.
The course would include:
• Understanding the exposure triangle (manual mode isn’t scary)
• Mastering aperture and the creative aspects of depth of field
• The rules and benefits of composition within an image
• Changing ISO and the different outcomes on a photograph
• Using shutter speed to your advantage
• Working with photographers to develop their personal style
• Using monochrome effectively
• Learning abstraction by the area around them
• Smartphone photography and the functions you possibly didn’t know about
• See their work printed in a zine at the end of the course.

Those taking part will also gain the benefits to their health and wellbeing, by spending time connecting with nature and the environment around them, during our short walks through the local area.

The course will be a walking photography course, where the majority of the work will take place outdoors (local to the venue) with a meeting place of St. Cuthberts Church, Marton.
