Sewing
This course covers all aspects of sewing and needlecrafts, from dressmaking to soft furnishings, to embroidery and all in between.
You can learn to use a sewing machine to create garments for yourself and your family, make soft furnishings for your home or alter clothing for a personal fit.
We can teach you to read and understand commercial patterns on a step by step basis so that you can recreate the items independently.
No previous experience required. We cater for all abilities, from complete beginners to more advanced sewers.
You will learn by demonstration of practical techniques and working through your own practical projects.
You do not need to bring anything at the start of the course, only a notebook and pen. Later, basic sewing equipment may be needed i.e. pins, scissors, tape measure – although all basic equipment is available to borrow. A sewing machine is not essential as there are machines available to use in all venues but own machines can be used if you would prefer.
The only additional costs include the costs of fabrics, patterns, threads etc, to complete chosen projects.
Course starts Tuesday 21st January 2025.
